Well, it certainly sounds like the Emperor...

Saturday 11th June 2005

As guessed last week by Ashley* we seem to have the new Doctor meeting the Emperor Dalek (we think) next week in Dr Who [the new series] after a battle with loads of daleks. He's had a series of adventures where he's not been really sure what's being going on due to a time war - it only comes together at the end. And he's in danger of losing that new body...We all know who comes next...

and meanwhile in the strange strange land of Devious which we occasionally visit over a period of years and years with no money but loads of enthusiasm...

As written over a decade agoby David and Ashley we seem to have the new Doctor meeting the Emperor Dalek in Dr Who [Devious] after a battle with loads of daleks. He's had a series of adventures where he's not been really sure what's being going on - due to disturbances in his time stream - it only comes together at the end. And he's in danger of losing that new body... We all knew who came next ...

Hmm, some similarities indeed - there are plenty more but seeing as we've no money, influence and have just pottered along with ours it's all a great coincidence. Quite how we'll all react when we see the great looking Emperor the BBC and the Mill would have created will doubtless be interesting to watch! Don't worry we're not trying to make any point other than highlight the coincidental similarities - we're just happy that the series is back on and so damn successful too! As we've always said, we've done this for fun and the experience and it's fun to see that we've been on a similar course all this time! Albeit there's a lot of differences too - besides the money differences there's the slightlack of acting ability, occasional wobbly sets and some odd lines here and the fact that instead of roomfulls of computer geniuses doing the effects there's just a few of us in all. Ho hum. Still, we're still determined to finish ours - at least the filming is done now - just the editing, sound, music, computer effects and model filming to do...

Our plot isn't exactly the same as we're making you think here in this news item, although superficially things do seem similar !!! And as for whether our interim Doctor meets the Emperor like the Ninth and Second do, well, he may just. It was something we did want to keep secret but then quite frankly we've no problem with it now - perhaps we just wanted to say yeah well we can do that too! You want emperors and flying daleks - we got 'em. Only we didn't spend as much time and money of them so they won't look as good. But I bet our enthusiasm was at a similar level to the Beeb's !! Listening to Russell T Davies on the Confidential programmes is a great reassurance that the series is in the right hands for a great future.

We hope you've enjoyed following our own progress on our own project here on the website. With the occasional hints, clues and pics we've strung you along over the years with tales of its developmentand we've greatly been encouraged by the emails you send us (sorry we don't reply to all as we ought to).We will try to complete this marathon we've set ourselves and we thank you for your continued interest. It won't be a patch on the official programme but it'll have the same enthusiasm behind it.

* - not just Ashley but loads of you all on the world wide wotsit have made the same prediction of course we're not claiming anything here !!! and whats more it not even necessarily correct! the wolf could be a wolf !!!! (although more likely some merge between a high ranking timelord and the emperor...)
