We had decided when we were setting up the Pertwee evening - which was arranged a month before due to the difficulty of getting us all together - to try to get Anthony in to do his ADR.
This was vital, for the scenes at the end of episode one and the start of two are set inside a very echoey dome, and try as he might, Mark, plus others before him, have tried unsuccessfull;y to clean the soundtrack sufficiently to make it acceptable. FInally we now have Anthony revopicing those lines, sounding remarkably the same as he did all those years ago. We, and he, were initially worried his voice would be too low, but then his years of stage acting experience since Devious have stood him in good stead. Ashley was tasked with the job of recording the scenes after careful preparation and training from David, and after some initial nerves and worries it wouldn't work out (typically from Ashley) it seemed to work well. Certainly Anthony's experience in ADR shone through, and his willingness to try a few different approaches to some of the lines, as well as a couple of ad-libs which may work well in scenes where is face was distant, mean that the soundtrack for episodes one and two are well on the way to completion.
Next up is Lynette who needs to reprise her role in the epic!
